Jacob excited to read his new book

Jacob excited to read his new book

Lost My Name - a beautiful book to read with your little one

December 3, 2014

We all know how important reading to our children is.

One of my favourite things is reading a story at bedtime. When our daughter, Amber, was six weeks old, we started reading to her, now she's 11 and tells me she's too old to be read to, so she reads to me!

Luckily for me, I have a soon to be four year old son, Jacob, who loves books. There's nothing I like better than getting in from a busy day at work, and arriving home just in time for our bedtime routine.

Getting all snug in my big bed with Jacob, with just the lamp on, and us all tucked under the duvet, reading a book is just lovely.

We came across a website called Lost My Name.

The Lost My Name books are personalised books, one for a boy and one for a girl.

Favourite time of the day, bedtime story!

The books are beautiful and would make a gorgeous gift for a special little person in your life.

When ours arrived for my son Jacob, he couldn't wait to read it.

The books tell of a story of a child who has lost his or her name, and bravely sets off to track down the missing letters.

When your little one is reading it, they have no idea what's in store. On the way the child meets lots of weird, wonderful and wise characters, who give them the first letter of their name.

Such a clever book, the illustrations are beautiful, illustrated by Pedro Serapicos, and the exciting story by David Cadji-Newby.

This is no flimsy book, it's printed on really top quality paper, in a nice big A4 landscape size, and there's lots to hold the imagination of the kids.

Along the way, Jacob met a Jester, an Aardvark, a Chameleon, an Ostrich, and a Bear. See where this is going? So clever. Each child has their own experience.

Jacob loves this book. It keeps him engrossed for a good long time, which I like, as we get to snuggle for a bit longer. I loved his face when he got to the end. I managed to get a picture of it!

Jacob was so surprised the book had his name in it!

Order yours from www.lostmy.name, the books are £18.99, with free postage, free dedication that can be printed on the first page of your book, and there's an option to add gift wrap for £2.50.

Happy reading!
